Apex UMC is a large, vibrant church committed to loving, welcoming, and serving all our neighbors.
The Director of Operations will oversee the facilities and business matters of the church, including contracts, budgeting, and HR responsibilities.
Essential Functions and Duties Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all campus buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Develop and manage facility and equipment use policies and procedures under the guidance of the Senior Pastor and Trustees Oversee facility management, including ensuring all systems and structures are maintained and operating sufficiently Manage facility use contracts and other future contracts alongside Church Administrator and Trustees Manage existing service contracts and maintain local and state-mandated annual inspections and reporting Maintain vendor relationships Function as the point of contact and/or first responder for facility-related emergencies Manage security and safety and ensure compliance with Safe Sanctuaries policy Equip and serve as staff liaison to the Trustees Committee to address safety, maintenance, improvement, and planning, including setting project priorities Create and maintain the Facilities annual budget with the Trustees Committee, including processing facilities-related bills Supervise Facilities Support staff.
Oversee business matters of the church.
Manage contracts pertaining to business operations, including insurance, auditors, accounting, budgeting, internet/computers, and phones Oversee relationships for banking, lending, and credit card accounts Provide oversight of contracted accounting firm Oversee the annual budgeting process, in consultation with Finance Team and Pastors Prepare financial reports for church-wide communications Attend Finance and Church Council meetings Assist with Annual Audit Oversee HR matters including candidate screening, onboarding, tracking vacation and sick leave Maintain office procedures and operations manuals.
Participate in relevant staff meetings with the Apex UMC staff.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor, Senior Pastor Minimum Qualifications Minimum of three years relevant work experience Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or relevant field.
Superior interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications Excellent administrative and management skills; able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent computer skills with email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
Preferred understanding and general knowledge of facility-related systems and equipment Knowledge of relevant facility and business operations software or willingness to learn Demonstrate discretion and understanding of confidential matters Minimum Qualifications for All Staff Members at AUMC Sense God's calling to this ministry and be eager to use one's gifts and talents to serve Christ.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
